The Rotorua Breast Cancer Trust has been supporting the Rotorua Community for over a decade and are now looking for two new recruits to carry on the fantastic work they do in our community. The RBCT supports those in our community who are, or have been affected by breast cancer, providing a support network as well as services free to patients locally RBCT has two paid part-time contract positions available to two charismatic, super-organised, super-dedicated rock stars. The Administration Assistant and Fundraising Coordinator. In order to be a great pick, there are a few characteristics they’re looking for:

  • Reliability, organised and punctual
  • Someone who can self-manage
  • Slick personal presentation and a professional nature
  • Compassion, confidentiality, in general a kind nature
  • Personable, great relationship builder (already established relationships would be great too!)

Key skills and experience for success:

  • RBCT have to be efficient about what they do, as most members are volunteers. You have to have previous administration experience and know your way around computers and software to an intermediate/advanced level
  • Have a creative and marketing brain, knowledge of Mailchimp and Social Media is a must, web development would help, but as long as you can learn…
  • Database management
  • People management
  • Know how to run and document meetings
  • You have to be an effective communicator, both written and orally
  • Relationship building is key. You have to be confident to establish and maintain relationships, be a good networker
  • You need to be self directed
  • High level of competency with the MS Office suite
  • Events experience (fundraising role)

Either of these roles may suit someone who wants an extra challenge, or someone who is looking for extra work but requires flexibility. What’s in it for you? Administration Assistant: This role is for 30 hours per month, on a flexible basis, however attendance is required at one monthly board meeting. Fundraising Coordinator: This role is primarily focussed on the lead up and successful delivery of the Pink Walk, we need someone who can fundraise and organise an event to within an inch of its life! Experience is preferred. The payment for the delivery of this event is by way of a monthly instalment, to a set amount. Hours to carry out this role will be regulated by the Fundraising Coordinator.

Fundraising Coordinator

The Fundraising Coordinator is primarily responsible for the successful lead up and delivery of the Rotorua Breast Cancer Trust Pink Walk, scheduled for Wednesday 17 October, 2018. The Fundraising Coordinator role generates the largest revenue for RBCF annually. This role works in coordination with the Administration Assistant and the Board of RBCT.

  • Media and Marketing

 

Key Knowledge Areas

  • Event management
  • Robust health and safety knowledge, planning and compliance experience
  • Record keeping and database management
  • Media correspondence i.e. press release preparation

 

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to take direction, yet also demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal comprehension
  • Good computing ability and adaptability to learning new software programmes (efficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite and Mailchimp)
  • Time management and prioritising skills, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to deal with new and varied people, a real team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle interruptions
  • Ability to navigate and coordinate pressing, unplanned situations

 

Administration Assistant

The Administration Assistant role is a contracting position for RBCT, designated to handle the coordination of correspondence, administrative and media activities. This role reports directly to the Chairperson.

Key Functions

  • Booking and running meetings, following up action points
  • General administration duties, enrolment management
  • Stakeholders and correspondence management
  • Media and marketing (social media and website management)

 

Key Knowledge Areas

  • General administration practices
  • Formatting of reports, memorandums, letters and proposals
  • How to facilitate meetings
  • Record keeping and database management
  • Knowledge of Paypal process

 

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to take direction, yet also demonstrate initiative
  • Excellent written comprehension with the ability to create, format and handle documents of a sensitive nature
  • Good computing ability and adaptability to learning new software programmes (efficient user of the Microsoft Office Suite and Mailchimp)
  • Time management and prioritising skills, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Ability to deal with new and varied people, a real team player
  • Web development/updating
